Figured Exotic Woods has developed a niche in importing tropical woods with an exceptional figured grain. They travel to Africa and Europe to discover these unique logs that may yield this special figure. The logs are sawn on special large saw mills under the supervision of an expert to yield the best planks to be used in unique furniture and other masterpieces. Their web-site provides access to these specialty woods for master craftsmen as well as hobby woodworkers.

How SalesKite helps them
When Figured Exotic Woods needed a web-site and E-commerce system to help organize their new sales channel they chose SalesKite.  Two of the partners in the business had been using the CRM (Contact Relationship Management) and the order handling system in another business. Since SalesKite was designed first as a business administrative system with a fully functioning CMS (Content Management System) for the web-site and then a fully operational E-commerce; it made perfect sense to use SalesKite.

Most importantly, SalesKite allows Figured Exotic Woods to manage an E-commerce system without the extra work as it extends directly from the back-end into the front end. Orders are funneled directly back to the back-end for regular order processing and shipping. Figured Exotic Woods teamed up with PayJunction to handle their on-line payments.

In addition, the web based system allows multiple people to access all data from different locations, making it extremely functional for traveling partners.  Accounting is done in North Carolina and Inventory/shipping in Ohio; two locations seamlessly integrated.

Figured Exotic Woods wanted to create a special feel to the web-site plus the ability to feature the magnificent logs and lumber they sell. Our CMS department worked with the web-designer to implement "scripts" that expanded the pictures for detailed viewing. The E-commerce section has been extended from the back-end inventory system plus added PayJunction integration. They signed up with PayJunction for a merchant account, which SalesKite integrated; thereby getting them better rates for accepting Credit Card payments.

Next features they are looking to utilize

For shipping purposes Figured Exotic Woods is considering having SalesKite integrate Federal Express shipping. This would allow them to create labels directly inside SalesKite from the order page, which would reduce time and labor costs.
